❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Instagram allows 150 characters, including spaces, emojis and line breaks. Each bio here shows its character count.
Yes. Emojis add personality and make a bio easier to scan. Each emoji uses about 2 characters of your 150 limit.
Who you are, what you offer, a personal touch and a clear call to action.
AI Magic uses AI to write custom bios. To keep the service free, each IP gets 10 AI requests every 2 hours, then the button unlocks automatically. The normal Generate button is unlimited.
Update it when your offer, content or goals change. Many creators refresh the CTA line every week or two.
Build an Instagram Bio That Fits Inside 150 Characters
Tap Edit Profile on Instagram and the bio box gives you 150 characters, with spaces, emojis and line breaks all counted. That is roughly two short sentences to tell a stranger who you are, what you do and what to do next. An Instagram Bio Generator cannot know your story, but it can hand you structured drafts so you start by editing instead of staring at an empty box.
This guide explains what the KromoTools tool does with your inputs, where its limits are, and how to turn a template into a bio that sounds like one person wrote it.
What the Two Buttons Actually Do
This Instagram bio maker has two buttons that work differently. Generate fills just under 50 built-in templates with your name, niche, up to three keywords and an optional call to action, then shuffles the results. It runs in your browser, and the provided code puts no daily limit on it. AI Magic sends what you typed to a server that writes custom bios, and it is capped at 10 requests per IP address every two hours.
Treat both as a drafting aid, especially if you are collecting Instagram bio ideas rather than one finished line. Ask for 30 to 48 results and skim for a structure you like. A few behaviours are worth knowing before you rely on it:
- A style pill or the Bio Vibe menu moves matching templates to the top but does not exclude the rest. Only six templates are tagged funny, so asking for 20 funny bios will pull in other styles to fill the list. If both are set, the pill wins.
- Profile Type changes the Generate results only when Bio Vibe is left on Any Vibe, and then only for Business, Influencer and Content Creator. For Artist, Fitness, Food or Travel, only AI Magic receives that choice.
- Style comes from the vibe, not from a gender setting, so a search for an Instagram bio generator for girls or boys will not find a dedicated option here.
- The templates contain no emojis. If you wanted an Instagram bio generator with emojis, you will need to add them yourself after copying.
- Nothing is saved. Copy the bios you like before you regenerate.
Where Each Part of Your Profile Does Its Job
The bio is only one of several places to describe yourself. The name field above it takes up to 30 characters, the bio takes 150, and links sit in their own section. Instagram has allowed up to five links since 2023; you set them in the mobile app, and only the first one shows directly on your profile.
On the search question, sources disagree. Instagram's own published explanation of search says it matches typed text against usernames, bios, captions, hashtags and places, and the advice at the time was to use a fitting profile name and relevant bio keywords. Many newer guides single out the name field as the stronger signal and doubt the bio text counts as much. Nobody outside Instagram can verify the weighting, so the sensible approach is to put your clearest keyword in the name field, such as "Sarah | Photographer", and write the bio for the person who has already arrived.
Your handle is a separate field again. If you are still choosing one, the Username Generator builds handles from a keyword and trims them to each platform's length limit, which is 30 characters for Instagram.
One detail inside this tool matters here. The "Link in bio" option only adds those three words as text. It does not create a link, so you still need to add your real URL in the Links section.
From Template to Finished Bio: One Worked Example
The example below is illustrative, since the templates are shuffled and your output will differ. Inputs: name Sarah, niche Photographer, keywords NYC, travel, coffee, vibe Aesthetic, CTA Link in bio. One possible draft:
Sarah | Photographer
Living life one moment at a time
NYC | travel | coffee
Link in bio
By the tool's count that is 87 characters, line breaks included, so it fits. But "living life one moment at a time" could sit on thousands of profiles. Here is an edited version:
Street + travel photographer in NYC
New gallery every Friday
Book a shoot ↓
That version is 75 characters. It says what Sarah shoots, gives a reason to come back and tells the reader what to do next. Her name field would carry the keyword as "Sarah | NYC Photographer", which is 24 of the 30 allowed characters.
Common Mistakes With Generated Bios
- Posting the template untouched. Lines like "Good vibes only" fit everyone, which means they tell a visitor nothing. Swap at least one line for a specific detail.
- Spending all 150 characters on keywords. A bio that reads like a directory listing gives a visitor no reason to follow.
- Relying on decorative lettering. Styled text built from special Unicode characters can be harder for screen readers to read and may not match plain-text searches. A tool like the Stylish Font Generator is fine for a word or two, but keep your name and keyword in plain text.
- Typing a URL into the bio text. Use the Links section, which keeps your 150 characters for words.
- Ignoring the tail end. The tool adds your CTA and then trims to 150 characters, so the CTA is the first thing lost on a long bio. AI Magic bios are not trimmed by the page at all. Check the counter, which turns red above 140.
Questions People Ask Before Pasting a Bio
Is the name field the same as my username?
No. The username is your @handle. The name field is the bold line above your bio, with its own 30-character limit. Use the handle to be recognisable and the name field for the keyword people would type to find someone like you.
Does "Link in bio" make a clickable link?
No, it is plain text pointing at the Links section. Add up to five links in Edit Profile, then Links, from the mobile app. Put the most important one first, because it is the only one shown directly.
Where do my entries go, and are my bios stored?
The Generate button runs in your browser, and the provided implementation has no upload step for it. AI Magic sends your name, niche, keywords, profile type, CTA and vibe to the tool's server to produce its results, so avoid typing anything private. The page has no save feature.
How do I keep my line breaks when I paste?
The Copy Bio button copies the text with its line breaks, and you can paste it straight into the bio field. Remember that each line break counts toward the 150 characters.
Can I use the same bio on TikTok or X?
You can reuse the wording, but check each platform's own limit first. Shorter templates, such as the Minimal and Short styles, travel best between platforms.
Your Next Step After Hitting Copy
A bio only gets a visitor to the next step, which is your content. Once the profile reads well, the Caption Generator can draft post captions from a topic and tone, and the Avatar Generator can help if you want a profile picture that matches the new look.
Whichever draft you pick, read it once as a stranger would. If it could belong to any account in your niche, change one line until it could only be yours.
