How We Build and Correct Our Tools
Kromo Tools is only useful if its results can be trusted. This page explains how we build tools and write content, what influences us (and what does not), and how we fix mistakes.

Formulas come from recognised standards and guidance, not guesswork.
Tested by hand
Results are checked against manual calculations before a tool goes live.
Re-checked
We review every tool again every 90 days.
Corrections welcome
Tell us about a mistake and we will look into it.
How We Build a Tool
Every tool goes through the same four steps before it is published.
Research the method
We find the standard formula or rule for the task, for example from health organisations, government sources, textbooks or the official specification of a file format.
Build it simply
We build the tool so it does one job clearly, shows its result plainly and, where it makes sense, runs in your browser.
Test against known answers
We compare the output with manual calculations and worked examples, including edge cases such as zero, very large values and empty input.
Review on a schedule
Each tool is re-checked every 90 days, or sooner if a standard changes or someone reports a problem.
More about who works on the site is on our Team & Research Process page.
Our Content Standards
- Plain language. We explain how a tool works and what its result means, without jargon where we can avoid it.
- No made-up claims. We do not invent statistics, reviews, user numbers or endorsements.
- Limits are stated. If a result is only an estimate, or a rule differs between countries, we say so.
- Health and finance with care. These tools give general estimates only and are never a substitute for a doctor, accountant or other professional. See our Disclaimer.
- Original work. We write our own explanations and respect other people's copyright. See our DMCA Policy.
AI-Powered Tools
A few of our tools use outside AI services to generate text. These tools are marked as AI-powered, and their output can contain mistakes, so please read and edit it before you use it. We do not review individual AI results. How your input is handled is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Independence, Ads and Affiliate Links
Kromo Tools is free to use. We may show ads, such as Google AdSense when enabled, and we may earn a commission if you sign up for a service through an affiliate link. Our current affiliate relationship is with Bluehost, and it is labelled on our Recommended Tools page.
Ads and affiliate links never change how a calculation works or what result a tool gives. Advertisers cannot pay to alter a tool or its results, and sponsored content is always labelled as sponsored.
Corrections Policy
We make mistakes sometimes, and we would rather fix them quickly than hide them.
You report it
Tell us which tool, what you entered, what result you got and what you expected. A screenshot helps.
We check it
We review every report and try to reproduce the problem against the source formula.
We fix it
Confirmed errors are corrected as soon as we can. If a fix changes results in a way that matters, we say so on the tool page.
We follow up
If you left an email address, we will let you know what we found.
Not every report is a mistake. Different standards and rounding rules can give different answers, and in that case we will explain the difference instead.
Spotted something wrong?
Send us the tool name and what you entered. It takes a minute and helps every user.
Limits and accuracy in the guide
Our guide explains in plain language what the tools can and cannot do.
